Late last year BSkyB – the dominant PayTV operator in the U.K. – announced that the company would make its satellite PayTV service available on the open Internet to any U.K. resident with a broadband connection. Now, all a customer needs to do is go to the Sky website, pick a package, provide a credit card number, and they instantly have PayTV service from Sky.
