Today, live broadcast and cable programming competes with a growing array of platforms and services, including time-shifting via DVR and VOD, as well as the availability of online video content now available on the television.
With this growing variety of options now available to consumers, ‘TV time’ has fragmented, as has the user experience.
TV Viewing in the Age of Quantum Video explores recent primary research regarding this phenomenon. Across a number of variables, the report examines both TV viewing habits in general and by net-to-TV platform, including smart TVs, iSTBs, game consoles, DVRs, Blu-ray players, personal computers, tablets, and even smart phones. As well, it assesses the types and frequency of content viewed on each enabling platform. (See Table of Contents and List of Figures above for more detail.)
